MTV International’s Biggest Night in Music will return to Spain on November 4th 2018, Live from the Bilbao Exhibition Center (BEC).
This will be the third time that the Awards are celebrated in Spain following the 2002 show in Barcelona, and 2010 in Madrid.
According to Manuel Gil, Senior Vice-president & General Manager of Viacom International Media Networks Spain, “The celebration of the MTV EMAs in Bilbao is great news for MTV, for the city, and, of course, for all of Spain. We have the opportunity of hosting an event of this size in Spain again, in a very special year for these awards, since we are celebrating their 25th anniversary. Also,” he continued, “the EMAs are a worldwide platform for our local artists, since the nominees for each edition are voted by thousands of MTV fans to become the ‘Spanish Artist of the Year’”.
London was the city chosen for the 24th MTV EMAs. Winners included Canadian star Shawn Mendes, singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran, Irish rockers U2 and featured performances from Demi Lovato, Liam Payne, Camila Cabello, Kesha, The Killers, Stormzy, Travis Scott, French Montana, David Guetta and Clean Bandit. Raffaele Annecchino, President & Managing Director of Viacom International Media Networks for South and Western Europe, Middle East and Africa, said: “Bilbao is the perfect city for the 2018 event. The spirit, the culture, the food, and the energy of the city, as well as its people, are just the perfect combination to offer and create unique experiences and moments alongside MTV.
